Kim Sabin Portland Oregon doula and childbirth educator

Hi, I'm Kim.

I'm a birth and postpartum doula, childbirth educator, newborn care specialist, and sleep consultant—but more than anything, I'm someone who loves walking alongside families through the incredible, messy, life-changing journey into parenthood.

Over the past 9+ years, I've had the privilege of supporting hundreds of families through pregnancy, birth, postpartum recovery, feeding challenges, newborn life, and sleep struggles.

What I've learned is that most parents aren't looking for someone to tell them what to do.

They're looking for someone they trust.

Someone who will answer their questions without judgment, help them sort through all the conflicting advice, celebrate the exciting moments, and support them through the hard ones.

That's the kind of support I strive to provide.

Many of my clients first hire me for birth support, but what often makes our work together special is that the relationship doesn't end there. I continue supporting families through postpartum, feeding, sleep, and the many transitions that come with life after baby.

I believe parents deserve more than information.

They deserve support.

The kind of support that helps you feel informed without feeling overwhelmed, confident without feeling pressured, and cared for every step of the way.

It would be an honor to be part of your family's story.

Why I do This Work

Becoming a parent changes everything.

It's exciting, beautiful, exhausting, emotional, and sometimes overwhelming all at the same time.

Over the years, I've seen how much it matters to have someone in your corner—someone who listens, answers questions, helps you sort through the noise, and reminds you that you don't have to figure everything out on your own.

That's why I do this work.

I believe every family deserves support that feels personal, compassionate, and grounded in real life—not pressure, judgment, or fear.

Whether I'm supporting a family through pregnancy, birth, postpartum recovery, feeding challenges, or sleep struggles, my goal is always the same:

To help parents feel informed, supported, and confident in the decisions they make for their family.

A Little About Me

When I'm not supporting families, you'll usually find me spending time with the people I love most.

I've been married to my husband—my best friend—for more than 24 years, and together we're raising three incredible kids who continue to keep life interesting and teach me something new every day.

Just like the families I support, I'm also a wife, a mom, and someone who understands that life rarely goes exactly as planned. I've learned that having support, flexibility, and people in your corner can make all the difference during life's biggest transitions.

I'm an Oregon native who loves all four seasons, being outdoors, and finding joy in the simple things.

A few of my favorite things include:

• Getting lost in a really good book

• Starting the day with a walk or workout

• Camping and exploring with my family

• Cheering on the Oregon Ducks and Notre Dame Fighting Irish

It's these everyday moments that keep me grounded and remind me how important family, connection, and support truly are.
