Certified Doula & Childbirth Educator Kim Sabin
Kim is a passionate woman who instantly became interested in birth work after making an acquaintance who introduced themselves as a doula. As a young girl, Kim was fascinated by pregnancy, birth and babies and the conversation between she and this woman ignited a passion that had been burning within her for decades. Kim immediately began to engross herself in reading and learning all about birth and the supportive role of a doula.
A humbling and eye-opening experience on a church mission trip to Bulgaria where Kim worked primarily with infants, affirmed her desire to support new families professionally.
In 2017 Kim began her training to become a doula and completed her certification through Birth Arts International in January of 2019. Kim’s desire to never stop learning and growing led her to the following courses and certifications:
Birth & Postpartum Doula Training September 2017
Breastfeeding Educator Training September 2017
Bereavement Training November 2017
Babywearing Training January 2018
Hypnobabies Training June 2018
Spinning Babies Training August 2018
Childbirth Education Training February 2019
Kim’s own pregnancies and births and the unpredictable nature of each, equipped her to understand the twists and turns that can arise along the way for birthing families. Kim is a wise and confident woman by nature and her clients take comfort in the unassuming support she provides.
Kim’s favorite quote by Eleanor Roosevelt, “Happiness is not a goal...it's a by-product of life well lived.” has become the mantra by which she lives her life. She and her husband of 18 years, Jasper are the loving parents to 3 very busy children! When Kim is not working, you can find her cheering on Team Sabin as they challenge themselves on the baseball and soccer fields and to triathlons and Ironman races. She is the team’s biggest fan!
Kim is a lover of chocolate, a maker of great pizza, and a Connoisseur of Mexican food. She loves motivational books and is not afraid to let her inner badass out whenever she deems necessary. She’s also great at helping others find and welcome theirs!
Kim welcomes you to contact her to discuss how her supportive services can benefit you best during pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period.
